Show Reception honors newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Gourley Mr. and Mrs. Gourley are making their home in Salt Lake City until she completes her schooling in June at the University of Utah. Gourley, honored at recent reception. She is the former Susan Friel. One of the most attractively arranged wedding receptions this season was that for Mr. and Mrs. Kent L. Gourley early ear-ly this month in the First-Twelfth First-Twelfth Ward Hall. Mrs. Gourley Gour-ley is the former Miss Susan Friel, daughter of Mrs. Mary Friel of this city and the late David T. Friel. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rob-ert L. Gourley of Spanish Fork. The couple was married in the Manti LDS Temple by Ferry Faux of Spanish Fork. They are making their home in Salt Lake City. The lovely young bride chose a wedding gown of delustered satin with over-lace on the skirt and lace appliques trimming trim-ming the bodice and edging the detachable train. A tierra of seed pearls held an elbow-length elbow-length veil in place and she carried a bouquet comprising a cymbodium orchid corsage surrounded with stephanotis garlands and a rose fall. Attending the bride as maid of honor was her sister, Miss Mary Jane Friel, while Mrs Carrol Grudzivski, Mrs. Carol McKenzie, Mrs. Pat Ivory, Cam McCarrey, Diane Boyer and Lorraine Horton were bridesmaids, with little Sandra Harmer, flower girl. The attendants were attired in floor-length red and white dotted Swiss dresses and held round balls of red carnations attached to a red velvet ribbon. rib-bon. Robert L. Gourley was best man for his brother. Dail Nelson, Nel-son, John Van Orman, Stephen Iba, Steven Searle, Vaughn and Bruce Gourley were ushers. Mrs. Friel chose a two-piece red knit suit for the reception and Mrs. Gourley red brocade satin. Their corsages were red and white carnations. Greeting guests at the door were Dr. and Mrs. Jay Harmer and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Losee. Mrs. Juanita Strong and Mary Jane Bird were at the guest register. Arranging the gifts were Mrs. Audrey Miner, Mrs. Agnes Jenkins, Mrs. Ardith Ruff assisted as-sisted by gift bearers, Craig Harmer and David Friel. Hostesses were Mrs. Roberta Gourley, Ann Hansgen and Mildred Friel with serving done by Sharon Peterson, Bonnie Bon-nie Wright, Carolyn Carr, Diane Di-ane Meilstrup, Kristin Paulson and Noney Penrod. |
