Show Miss Ida Packard becomes ride Of Marvil Flom In Lovely Home tes S An interesting wedding of early fall was that of Miss Ida Packard, daughter of J. A. Packard of this city, and Marvil G. Flom, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Flom of Rapid City, S. D., which took place last evening at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Preal Packard, 1335 Gilmer Drive, Salt Lake City. Nephi L. Morris performed the ceremony, with members of the immediate family and close friends in attendance. A large reception honored the couple after their marriage, with music furnished during the evening by a stringed ensemble. The bridal party stood before the fireplace which was a bower of white gladioli, with floor standards at either end holding white tapers. The bride chose for her wedding gown a dusty pink taffeta made with a sweetheart neckline, puff sleeves, fitted waistline, and a bouffant circular skirt. A single orchid corsage completed the costume. cos-tume. Mrs. Leon Bird was the bride's only attendant, and she wore a lovely gown of biege marquisette. Arnold E. Flom of Burlington, Iowa, brother of the groom, was best man. The guests were received by Mrs. Preal Packard, Mr. Packard, and Earl F. Anderson. The serving table was covered with an Italian lace cloth and centered cen-tered with a silver basket of Mechialmes daisies and marigold. Silver candelabra held tall orange tapers. Mrs. Earl F. Anderson was in charge of the serving room, assisted assist-ed by Miss Clara Harmer, Miss lone Tuckett and Mrs. Arnold E. Flom. Presiding over the gift room were Mrs. Bliss Packard and Mrs. Grant Packard of this city. The couple left for a honeymoon in South Dakota before going to Iowa to make their home. For traveling, the bride wore an attractive red and black wool ensemble with matching accessories. accessor-ies. THE PARI PASSU CLUB .MET ON WEDNESDAY at the home of Miss Melba Miller, where a delightful program and luncheon were enjoyed. President Betty Sumsion was in charge of the meeting. Martha Bird read the club collect col-lect and group singing of two songs was led by Bernice Palfreyman. Palfrey-man. The new club books were also distributed. Featuring the program, Mrs. A. W. Finley gave in an interesting manner the history of Springville. Louise Clyde entertained with piano accordian selections. In attendance were Bernice Palfreyman, Pal-freyman, Martha Bird, Mrs. Rex Sutherland, Mrs. Roy Hendrickson, Mrs. Max Sumsion, Mrs. Walter Clark, Mrs. William R. Clyde, Mrs. Kay Johnson, Mrs. Berton Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Woodrow Thompson, Mrs. Joseph Hansen, Mrs. Frances Hazel, Naomi Weight, and Mrs. Wayne Hacking. |
