Harper, nee Doris Fietkau Couple Leave For California Home After Temple Marriage, Reception Newlyweds Mr. and Mrs- Leslie K. Harper received re-ceived their many friends and relatives at a reception in the Third-Ninth ward church Wednesday evening, September 9. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple Tueday, September 8. President Robert I. Burton officiated of-ficiated at the ceremony. The bride is the former Doris Fietkau, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Fietkau of this city and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Renaldo Harper of Salt Lake City, recently of LaCrescenta, Calif. The bride was beautiful in a dress of nylon net and lace over satin, fashined with long pointed sleeves and high collar with pleated pleat-ed nylon outlining the full length skirt. Her veil of nylon net fell to her finger-tips from a tiny cap studded with rhinestones. Rhinestones Rhine-stones also bordered the veil. The bridal bouquet was of fugi-mums, beige-colored, and surrounded with white and acquai-colored carnations. carna-tions. Maids of honor at the reception were Flora and LaRae Fietkau, sisters of the bride, with Carol and Carma Harper, Renee Anderson, Ander-son, Margaret Alleman, Geraldine Murray, Pauline Donithorne, Faye Whitney and Thelma Bunker, as bridesmaids. Little Kathleen Fietkau Fiet-kau and LaDean Haymond were flower girls. They were all gowned in dresses of yellow and orchid shades. Best man duties were performed by Reid Harper, brother of the groom. Others in the receiving line were rjarents of the bride and j groom. For her daughter's wedding, wed-ding, Mrs. Fietkau chose a beige afternoon dress accented by a red rose corsage, while Mrs. Harper chose blue with pink and white carnation corsage.' Greeting guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark. Gwen Jones and Joylene Tingey were at the guest book. ! Receiving gifts at-the door were Kathy and johnny McKenzie and Gloria Sargent. Arranging the gifts were Janice Sargent, Ann Allan, Carol Ferguson and Nila Ruth Pratt. Attracting the attention fo the guests was the pretty three-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature min-iature bride and groom. It was surrounded on the serving table with orchid anfyellow asters with yellow candles on either side. Assisting in the serving room were Mrs. Emily Anderson, Mrs. Vanza Kopp, Mrs. Ida Bird, Marilyn Mar-ilyn Roylance, Afton Maycock and June Johnson. During the reception, Jane Harrison, Har-rison, Ann Johnson and Betty Ann Hoover played string music. Fred Smith acted as master of ceremonies for the program given as follows: vocal selections, Carol Weight and Janice Sargent; vocal trio, Janice Sargent, Edna Niel son and Flora Fietkau. Joylene Tingey gave a toast to the bride and groom. The invocation and the benediction were by Bliss Packard Pack-ard and A. E. Jacobsen. On the way to their new home in California, the young coupple stopped at the canyons and at Las Veas They will reside in Oon-tario Oon-tario Calif., where Mr. Harper will enroll at the Chaffey junior college. |
