' ,- ; ;J - ' , 1 " '- .'. . ;i j Mrs. Ivan Swenson, nee Miss Barbara Vernon Autumn Theme Chosen for Reception Tonight following Temple Wedding Colorful autumn has been chosen by pretty Miss Barbara Vernon and Ivan Swenson for their wedding the nuptials taking place today in the Salt Lake LDS The 4,000-year-old palace of ' King Minos at Cnossus, Crete, was as large as London's Buckingham Palace. j Temple. The ceremony will be performed per-formed by President Robert D. Young in the presence c-f close family members. This evening, the couple will be honored at a reception from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. in the Third-Ninth ward church, to which a host of relatives and friends have been bidden. A profusion of gladioli and chrysanthemums in autumn shades will decorate the church for the event. The bride, a daughter of Mrs. Freda Vernon of this city, will greet the guests in' a beautiful Chantilly lace gown over eggshell net with flounce of pleated net on the bottom and net edging around the neck. Long pointed lace sleeves and tight bodice completes com-pletes the design. Her veil of eggshell egg-shell net will be fingen-tip length arranged to a tiny bonnet studded with seed-pearls. Her bouquet will be of Talisman roses and yellow split carnations. Mrs. Keith Barker of Hood River, Oregon, has been asked to attend the bride as matron of t honor while Miss Sandra- Maycock will be maid of honor and June Chader and Janet Savage will be bridesmaids. For their costumes, the bride has chosen the autumn colors of green, orange, purple and yellow and they will all be of net made by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Rosa Maycock. Their bouquets will be in autumn shades of bronze and yellow made up of chrysanthemums. chrysanthe-mums. Little flower girls will be Sue Ann Wetherell, and Rosalene Swenson who will wear writlets of Tailsman roses. Milton Christensen and Jay Wight of Spanish Fork, will be best men to the groom. Mrs. Don Swenson and Mrs. Ross Swenson will be in charge of the gift room, while cousins of the bride, Rosalyn Maycock and Jayne Wetherell will serve under direction of Mrs. Rosa Maycock. Mrs. Dick Wetherell will be in charge of the guest book. Assisting in the reception of guests also will be the bride's mother who has chosen a beige evening gown, ballerina length, for her daughter's reception and the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Swenson of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Swenson wearing gray. Their corsages will be gardenias and Talisman roses. Immediately after the reception the couple will leave on a wedding trip to Las Vegas. Nev., and will return to make their home at 916 North First East, Provo, while the groom continues his schooling at the Brigham Young university. |
