Show WHITE GIRL TO MARRY NEGRO NEW YORK, Oct. 9.(lr.n) Phil Edwards. New York university's negro track star, will marry Miss Ijriith Margaret Oedelschoss. 19-year-old white girl, according to Edwards' brother, King. The girl's father, a waiter, in Union City, was reported to have said he would do every tiling possible pos-sible to prevent the marriage.. "They met at Amsterdam in 1928." Kind Edwards said, "when Philip was a member of the Canadian Cana-dian Olympic team. I suppose Miss Oedelschoss was impressed with his performances, for you know he holds the world record for the SSO-yard dash. She and her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jules Oedelschoss, were visiting Amsterdam on a tour from the little lit-tle village in Alsace-Lorraine, where they live. Philip and Miss Oedelschoss fell in love and before he returned to America they met again in London. "It was only a short time afterward after-ward that the family moved to America and went to WeehawKen, N. J. The romance was renewed. I do not see why anyone should interfere in-terfere and did not know that Mr. Oedelschoss had any objections."
