Tbe following evening, tbe couple received tbeir many relatives and friends at a reception beld in tbe Mapleton ball. Tbe bride was cbarmingly attired in a wbite taffeta gown fasbioned witb long sleeves and tigbt-fitting bodice. Her veil was finger-tip Iengtb, edged in lace and arranged to ber bead witb a coronet of seed-pearls. Sbe carried a bridal bouquet of stepbanotis centered witb an orcbid. Her sisters, Joyce and Marilyn; bis sister and sister-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Wbiting were attendants. Tbey were attired in pastel-colored formals witb corresponding bouquets. Best man to tbe groom was bis brotber Verl Allan. Tbe guests were entertained witb string music furnisbed by David Dalton, accompanied by Monta Ford. Mrs. Ellen Anderson also gave two vocal numbers. 1 Tbe ball was beautiful for tbe occasion witb a profusion profu-sion of cut flowers and candles used tbrougbout. Refresbments were served under tbe direction of Mrs. Pearl HoIIey and tbe gifts were arranged by Mrs. Sadie Wbiting, Mrs. Alga Macldey, Mrs. Hattie Jensen, Mrs. Martba Jensen, Mrs. Martba Wbiting, Mrs. Grace SuII ivan, Mrs. Virginia Wbiting and Mrs. Rutb Wbiting. Juan and Ray Wbiting, brotbers of tbe bride, acted as usbers. Soon after tbe reception, tbe couple left for Elko, Nev., wbere Mr. Allen is employed. Tbe bride, a talented musician and bigb scbool instruc-tor.is instruc-tor.is a former student of tbe University of Utab and graduated gradua-ted from tbe BYU. Sbe bas also studied music in tbe east. Mr. Allen, recently returned from an LDS mission and was enrolled last year at tbe BYU. |
