Show t Mrs. Erva Carling Childs, 68, who died Sunday evening following a long illness. Services today. Eighth Ward, for Erva Childs Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Mrs. Erva Er-va C. Childs, 68, who died Sunday evening, Oct. 2, 1966, at Eldred Hospital following a long illness. Time of the services is 1 p.m. in the Second-Eighth Ward Chapel, with Bishop Ray Cope of the Eighth Ward, officiating. Friends may call at Wheeler Mortuary, before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. She was born July 26, 1898, in Fillmore, a daughter of George and Caroline Jackson Carling, and was married to Chauncey H. Childs on May 24, 1917, in Fillmore. The marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Childs was a member of the LDS Church and active in the Relief Society She was a member of the DUP, American Legion Auxiliary, and the En-tre En-tre Nous Club of Springville. She was also active in the Springville Senior Citizens organization. or-ganization. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, France Childs of Bountiful; Carling Childs of Fullerton, Calif.; Mrs John (Theo) Eves of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alton F. (Geniel) Johnson John-son of Many Farms, Arizona; and Mrs. Joanne Hunsaker of Los Angeles, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; grand-children; and one brother and two sisters, Benner Carling of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Verna Clark of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Mrs. Clara Peden of Provo. Pro-vo. Wise mothers will pack first aid equipment when taking the youngsters on an outing. An aerosol container of soothing sooth-ing antiseptic helps treat minor cuts and scrapes. The United States Army has had chaplains since July 29, 1775, when they were authorized author-ized by the Second Continental Congress. |
