"x ss L ' " n" J A TWISTED WRECK is all that remains of the 1965 model automobile inovlved in an accident Tuesday just north of the city in which one Springville man lost his life. Services Friday for Springville man fatally injured in accident '- ! ; f s The driver, a son of Mr. and Mrs. N. G. Beardall, 446 East Second North, suffered a compound com-pound fracture of the right leg, a double fracture of the left leg and internal injuries. A report from his home Wednesday, Wed-nesday, said that he was recovering re-covering from the injuries. The other occupant of the car, Richard Ollerton, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs .Marion Ollerton, Oller-ton, 661 South Third East, suffered suf-fered a componud fracture to his left leg and cuts and bruises. bruis-es. The two are confined to Utah Valley Hospital. The car in which the three were riding, was completely demolished. Steven Lamont Mock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene L. Mock who lost his life in a violent automobile accident on the north end of town Tuesday morning. Two other companions compan-ions were seriously injured. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m., in Kolob Stake House, for Steven Lamont La-mont Mock, 19, who lost his life in an automobile accident Tuesday, June 1, 1965. Mays Anderson, bishop of the Sixth Ward, will be in charge of the services. Friends may call at Wheeler Wheel-er Mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Steven was born Sept. 17, 1945 in Payson, a son of Gene L. and Norma June Gustin Mock. He graduated in 1963 from Springville High School, where he was active in football and baseball, and was a member of the Athletic Club. He was a baseball enthusiast, having played on Little League, Colt, Pony and American Legion baseball teams. He also played M Men basketball. Following his graduation, he worked on construction jobs in Springville and later at the First National Bank of Nevada in Las Vegas. Surviving are his parents of Springville; two brothers, Kim Earl and Randy Gene Mock of Springville; and two grandparents, grandpar-ents, Julius Mock of Provo and Lewis E. Gustin of Springville. According to report by investigating in-vestigating officers, the accident acci-dent occured at about 12:30 a.m., Tuesday, on the south side of Ironton Hill, when the late model .car, supposedly driven by John James Kaufman, Kauf-man, 20, went out of control, as it attempted to pass another an-other car. The car traveling south, left the highway on the west side and turned over twice after striking a tree and pulling it out of the ground. Officers said the car traveled over 600 feet out of control. A member of Hobble Creek District, Troop 68, he has served as assistant patrol pa-trol leader and assistant senior sen-ior patrol leader. He attended attend-ed the Sixth National Jamboree Jam-boree of the Boy Scouts of America at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, last summer. |
