Show Funeral Services Held Monday For Boy, Polio Victim Funeral services were conducted here Monday afternoon for little Wayne Lee Mortimore, 8, son of Lee and Reta Oneal Mortimore, who was Springville's first victim of polio, this year. The little boy died Saturday, in a Salt Lake City hospital. The services were held at the A. Y. Wheeler and Son Mortuary, under direction of the Rev. Herman Her-man Klein, pastor of the Provo Lutheran church. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. The death of Wayne Lee, brings the total to three children who have lost their lives from the dread disease in Utah county this year. A total of 28 cases have been reported re-ported in the county thus far. The boy was born in Omaha, Nebr., and moved to Springville with his parents about two years ago. Before his illness, he had been a student at the Jefferson school. Surviving in addition to his parents, par-ents, are a sister, Linda Marie Mortimore; four grandparents, William Mortimore, Hamburg, Iowa; Io-wa; Mrs. Viola Pearson, Oleta, Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Oneal, New Market, Iowa. |
