Show Mrs. Margaret Metcalf Funeral Service Held Wednesday For Early Pioneer Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Llewellyn Metcalf, 88, former form-er resident of Springville, who died in California, were conducted Wednesday Wed-nesday in the First ward chapel, under direction of Howard May-cock, May-cock, former bishop of the ward. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, under the direction of A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. Mrs. Metcalf was born at Fountain Foun-tain Green, September 16, 1860, a daughter of Reese R. and Ann Llewellyn. She was said to be the first white girl born at Fountain Green and grew up in that community, com-munity, where her parents were among the first settlers. She was married to Levi Gregory Greg-ory Metcalf, January 27, 1881 and they moved to Mapleton with the first settlers. They later moved to Springville and then to Idaho returning to Springville shortly after Mr. Metcalf retired.. Since the death of her husband about four years ago, Mrs. Metcalf had resided with her sons and daughters. daugh-ters. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. May Gudmundson at Redland, Calif. Other survivors include daughters, Mrs. Blake Pal-freyman Pal-freyman and Mrs. Hilton Robertson Robert-son and two sons, Earl Metcalf of Provo and Burt Metcalf of Cambridge, Ida. |
