Show KIWANIS LADIES' NIGHT JUNE 24 One New Member Welcomed Into Club During Program .Honoring Past Presidents Kiwanis club officers announce the next meeting of the club to be on Thursday, June 24, in the form of a Ladies' Night soqjal, details of which are under direction of George Carstensen. A directors' meeting for the club will also be conducted ,on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 4 p. m., at the home of E. A. Strong, president. The club meeting last Thursday evening was in honor of the past presidents since 1921. C. E. Eg-gertsen Eg-gertsen was toastmaster on the occasion and presided over a nicely nice-ly arranged program given during the luncheon. Mrs. Geraldine Simmons and Mrs. Helen Thorpe rendered a vocal vo-cal duet, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Bird. Mr. Eggertsen bestowed be-stowed "honorary degrees of appreciation" ap-preciation" on the past presidents, and each responded with a short talk. Those attending the meeting were: Harold Christensen, J. F. Wingate, Milton Harrison, C. G. Salisbury, F. C. Packard, H. T. Reynolds, W. W. Clyde and M. W. Bird. William Witney and G. Lowry Anderson were unable to be present. The past presidents spoke on the accomplishments of Kiwanis, the ideals of Kiwanis and the place of Kiwanis in a community. Tom Smith was welcomed into the club as a new member during dur-ing the evening. |
