Show J. B. DIAMOND SERVICES HELD MONDAY Funeral services were conducted in the Third ward chapel Monday for James Burton Diamond, 81, life long resident of this city who died Friday at the family residence 57 East, Fourth North street. Burial was in the city cemetery directed by A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. He was born in Springville, August Aug-ust 6, 1860, a son of James and Mary Burton Diamond. His early life was spent railroading, logging and surveying. He was with the crew which surveyed the site for Park City. He also spent sosme time on survey work in Arizona. He with other Springville men secured se-cured the ties for the railroad through Springville. He later took up farming and was also marshall of Springville six years. He married Lillie May Packard in Springville, January 31, 1884. She died January 20, 1922 and he later married Frances Clyde. She died July 21, 1930. He mar-ied mar-ied May Coffman September 28, 1932, and she with six sons and daughters survive as follows: Willie Diamond of Pioche, Nev.; Mrs. Minnie McDonald of Howe, I Ida.; Mrs. Ethel Larsen, Earl and Lewis Diamond of Springville; Frank Diamond of Park City; also 29 grandchildren and eight great-! grandchildren. He has four brothers bro-thers and sisters, Mrs. Lillian Davies of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Mabel Mathews of Thechapi, Calif.; Cal-if.; Marvin Diamond of Roberts, Ida.; Mark Diamond of Springville; Spring-ville; also six step-children, Orien Clyde, Iva Hansen, Lee Hansen, , Marien, Zina and Earl Coffman. |
