Show Kiwanis International To Hold Convention Sun,, Moru and Tues. at Provo . Convention Ladies To Be Feted At Tea Monday Afternoon In the Springville High Art Building Annually an important affair, the Kiwanis International Inter-national district convention for Utah and Idaho will be held at Provo Sunday. Mondav and Tuesday. Au- Sgust 3, 4, and 5. With some of the nation's top-notch top-notch speakers scheduled and genuine gen-uine entertainment for Kiwanians and Kiwani-Anns programmed, the confab will offer three big days of education, fellowship, and thrills. One of the big events of the convention con-vention will be an art tea given for the entertainment of the ladies from 3 to 6 p. m. Monday in the Springville Art building, with Mrs. H. T. Reynolds acting as general gen-eral chairman. Speakers during the convention already scheduled include J. W. Hudson Huffard of Bluefield, W. Va., International trustee; Darrel Brady of Minneapolis, Minn., world traveler, lecturer, and writer; Howard W. Patience, Denver, Colorado, Colo-rado, chairman of education, Kiwanis Ki-wanis International; Rabbi Samuel H. Gordon of Salt Lake City; Governors Gov-ernors Herbert B. Maw and Chase Clark of Utah and Idaho, respectively; respec-tively; Arthur Gaeth of Provo, noted newspaper and radio commentator, com-mentator, and others. Inaugurating the convention, the session Sunday evening will be at the outdoor amphitheatre at Aspen Grove in Provo canyon. Regular sessions Monday and Tuesday will be at the Strand theatre, with banquets at the B. Y. U. Women's gym. A boat trip on Utah lake is slated Tuesday night. The governor's ball and banquet will be Monday night, the dance being in the beautiful new Joseph Jo-seph Smith building at B. Y. U. A tea at the Springville Art gallery and other special entertainment events are planned for the ladies. Five . hundred Kiwanians and their wives are expected to attend. |
