Show FUNERAL HELD MONDAY FOR ELDERLY LADY Funeral services were held in the First ward Monday afternoon for Mrs. Augusta Erdmann, 85, widow of William Erdmann, who died Friday at the family residence, resi-dence, Third South, First East street. Burial was in the Evergreen Ever-green cemetery, directed by the Claudin funeral home. She was born in Niagara county, coun-ty, N. Y., September 4, 1857, the daughter of Micheal William and Hannah Taters Earthman. When she was seven years old her parents par-ents moved to Danby, Mich., where she grew to womanhood and was married in 1875. With her husband and family, she came to Springville in 1898. The family were converts to the L. D. S. church, and had previously previous-ly made a trip West, settling in Brigham City, and then returning to their native state for two years. Her husband operated a grocery store here for a number of years. He died in 1901. Mrs. Erdmann had always been active in L. D. S. work, especially in her earlier life, when she served in the Primary presidency and as a Relief Society teacher for many years. Surviving are five sons and daughters, M. W. Erdman, Kent, Wash.; Mrs. Elias Harmer and Clarence Erdmann, Springville; Mrs. H. B. Alleman and William Erdmann, Midvale; also twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Frank Earthman, George Earthman, Mrs. Rose Brown and Mrs. Lena Martindale, Sunfield, Michigan. |
