Show Fonera! Services Held Monday For J. M, (Cell) Bate Well attended services were conducted con-ducted in the Third-Ninth ward chapel Monday afternoon, for Mar-cellus Mar-cellus (Cell) Bate, 65, Springville poultryman, who died Friday morning at the family residence. He had been in ill health for some time. Bishop Wilford W. Clyde conducted con-ducted the services. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, under direction of A. W. Wheeler and Son Mortuary. Mr. Bate was born in Springville June 25, 1885, a son of Joseph and Clara Carter Bate.. He had lived here most of his life. He married Roberta Hutching-son Hutching-son Oct. 14, 1908, at Springville. She died May 23, 1912. On March 23, 1926 he married Sarah E. Fau-sett. Fau-sett. He was active in Red Cross work. Survivors are his widow, one son and two daughters: Lee (Bud) Bate, Mrs. Fern Gear, and Mrs. Bernice Cranmer all of Springville; Spring-ville; five grandchildren and two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Cora Piper, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Melba Pennington, Springville; Les Bate, Burley, Ida.; and Ralph Bate, Spanish Fork. |
