Show Springville Man Victim Of Burns; Funeral Here Today Funeral services for LaVon Edward Ed-ward Payne, 44, who died early Monday at a Veteran's Hospital, Salt Lake City of burns received a week ago in a fire at his home in Provo, will be conducted today, Thursday, at 2 p.m., in the Fourth ward chapel. Bishop Frank Ber-rett Ber-rett will be in charge. Friends may call at the home of his father, D. E. Payne, 279 East Center street, before the services. ser-vices. Burial will be in the Evergreen Ever-green cemetery, under the direction direc-tion of A. Y. Wheeler and Son Mortuary. Mr. Payne was born in Springville, Spring-ville, June 5, 1906, a son of Daniel Edward and Clara Barnett Payne. He received his education in the Springville schools. He later went to Idaho to work and spent considerable con-siderable time there. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. Surviving in addition to his father fath-er are a brother, Dan C. Payne of Spring-ville and a sister, Mrs. Bernadine P. Jensen of Spanish Fork. |
