Show ENLISTMENTS IN AIRBORN FORCES NOW THREE YEARS Because of the Army's rapidly increasing numbers in certain popular branches, it has become necessary to accept enlistments in the Airborne Service for three-year three-year periods only, recruiting officials of-ficials announced today. An Army enlistee may choose this branch only if he joins for three years; shorter term enlistments enlist-ments are still open in many other branches, it was pointed out. Formerly a man could enlist in the Airborne for either one and a half, two or three years and be classified "Airborne unassigned". Benefits under the GI Bill of Rights are still being given.
