Show Dinner Honors Pioneer On 86th Birthday Mrs. Marion R. Menary, pioneer resident of Springville and one of the oldest citizens of this city, was honored on the occasion of her eigty-sixth birthday Sunday at a dinner given by her daughter.Mrs. Arvilla Gardiner, for close relatives rela-tives and friends. Mrs. Menary was born in Springville on August 25, I860. Her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Bell Roylance, were among the town's first settlers, coming here in 1850. As a young girl, she experienced the inconveniences of pioneer life. She knitted stockings and made other clothing for members of her family. She was married to John R. Menary, formerly of Iowa, in 1880. He died a number of years ago. Mrs. Menary, mother of six sons and daughters, has five living, liv-ing, Mrs. B. N. Reddington of Helper; Mrs. Frank W. Stout of Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Madeline Hodson, Provp; Mrs Arvilla Gardiner Gar-diner of Springville and Dick Menary of Mojave, Calif.; also 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. |
