Show (Celebrates Birthday ... i I - " ! s I : . . , ' if ; I . - . . "Dinner Party Given For Mrs. Reynolds On 90th Birthday Mrs. Rebecca Reynolds, widow of H. T. Reynolds, one of Spring-ville's Spring-ville's leading early-day business men, celebrated her 90th birthday birth-day on Friday of last week, when a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Vilate K. Reynolds, entertained at a surprise sur-prise dinner party for her, inviting invit-ing a few close friends. Mrs. Reynolds suffered a fractured frac-tured hip about two years ago and was confined to her bed for a time but is now able to get about in a wheel-chair and enjoys visiting with her family and friends. Her health otherwise is comparably good. Attending her birthday dinner party were: Mrs. Mary Menden-hall, Menden-hall, Mrs. Grace McKenzie, Mrs. Hattie Dougall, Mrs. Lillian Huntington, Hunt-ington, Mrs. Peter Nielson, Helen Reynolds. Mrs. Blanch Beal and Mrs. H. Taylor Reynolds, the latter lat-ter assisting the hostess with the dinner. Mrs. Beal entertained the guests with an interesting short story following fol-lowing the dinner and the remainder remain-der of the time was spent visiting. Mrs. Reynolds is a native of Mt. Pleasant, her parents having been sent to that locality by Brigham Young as pioneer settlers. At a very early age, she came to Springville. to live and work and met her husband whom she mar- ried on her 21st birthday. Oct. 26, Mrs. Rebecca Reynokh 1887. Mr. Reynolds passed away, Sept. 20, 1929. Mrs. Reynolds took active part in church work in her earlier years, having held among other positions the presidency of the Third ward Primary. She later served on the stake Primary board and was a Relief Society teacher. With her husband, she also served many years on the Old Folks com-mittee, com-mittee, and has been affiliated with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pion-eers since its earliest organization. She is the mother of eight sons and daughters, three of whom are living including: Helen Reynolds of Springville; Ernest Reynolds of Provo and Mrs. H. M. Dougall (Josephine) of Houston, Texas. There are also seven grandchildren grandchild-ren and 12 great grandchildren. The Herald joins with others in Springville in wishing Mrs. Reynolds Reyn-olds good health and more happy birthdays. |
