She worked with the students on a theoretical financial plan for buying and taking care of a hamster. Riverview Courtesy photos RESEARCH PROJECTS: As a learning experience for social studies, Brockbank second-graders were assigned to do an oral report for their class. They chose either an animal or a continent, did research on that animal or place, and then did a report on it. Ginny Di Raimo's and Charles Thorpe's classes worked with the city to plant trees at the ballpark as part of the city's Arbor Day celebration. Not only upper grade students can compose great stories and essays but this month, even kindergarten students completed their final drafts of their full stories. Congratulations Kindergarten! Sixth grade student incorporate by assisting kindergarten students with their writing. By working with buddies, not only do kindergarten students excel in their academic writing, but the sixth grade students love the opportunity for to incorporate service with learning. Courtesy photo ROUND THE WORLD: Spanish Oaks recently celebrated their first Kindy 500. All kindergarten students participated by singing patriotic songs, parading through the school in their Kindy Cars and driving their cars to six different learning stations where they learned about our country's national symbols. Thanks to our wonderful parents for their amazing support and help in making this such a huge success and a fun learning experience for the kindergarten students. Pictured is Sammy Manwaring in his Kindy Car. Mt. Loafer Rees EXERCISE: Rees Elementary had a visit from representatives of the Utah Flash. Ken works with the Flash and Julie is a dancer for the Flash. They motivated students'to read and to get exercise. The Flash Fox sprayed the crowed with silly string. Loafer Elementary School in Salem when they had a chocolate extravaganza. The students learned where chocolate came from and how it is made. They played fun chocolate games, created chocolate wrappers and wrote their names in chocolate pudding. It was a day of chocolatey fun! Pictured here is Saebra Bills writing her name in chocolate.
