Perroti teaches about addictions Norma Mendez SFHS John PeiToti from Utah Valley University talked to SFHS students about his experience with people who are addicted to drugs, He related some feelings of joy and love he has for these people. He taught that these people are just like all of us. They are not evil or wicked; they're just people who took a wrong path in their life or were faced with a bad situation. No one should criticize them, because it doesn't help them with their addiction. This would be a good. career for those who get a feeling of satisfaction in helping others get a feeling of self-worth. While many were interested in showcasing their special talents, there were only a dozen that made it through the auditions. Guitars and vocals were popular among the students as Sarah Wilcox and Michael Roberts sang a duet originally sung by Colby Caillat and Jason Mraz. Liuaki Wolfgramm, above, brought out his guitar and played a Collin Raye classic, "Love Me." Students enjoyed other numbers, including a piano solo by Skyler Hancock, a marching snare solo by Bryce McCabe, a dance routine by Sammi King, and a piano solo on a baby grand by Zac Ence. Rhett Nance led his Soda Pop Professors with a gig taken from the hit Song "Meant To Live" by Switchfoot. Chance Rosenlund brought a whole different vibe to the show with his nine-piece drum set and double base peddle and a touch of distorted guitar. McVey is a student from Salem Hills High School who interns at the Spanish Fork Clinic. But she feels one of the greatest parts of the internship is the opportunity to observe the staff and what they do on a daily basis in a career she is Spanish Fork News Covering what matters most Nicole Stamm is a senior at SFHS and is involved in the internship program. She has been an intern all year but with different intern sites. Her first semester internship was at Vaud Hanks Furniture in Springville. Nicole said she learned a lot about furniture arranging and how to place them in a room. They let her rearrange furniture in the store, helped her learn more about the different furniture, and even let her design rooms. Her second-semester internship is at Ogden's Carpet in Spanish Fork. She works in the office doing filing papers, mailing lists and organizing. i Nicole Stamm "I just enjoy being able to be involved with interior design just like you would be doing in the real world. Interns are a great thing to have in schools because it gives you the hands-on experience," she said. |
