Mr. Puro has taken a position inV emal, Utah, where his family is located. Cluff arrested armed, federal robbery suspect Kevin William Carr of Portland, Oregon, wanted in connection with two bank robberies. Carr later confessed to four bank robberies in Washington and Idaho, and a burglary in Oregon. Carr said that he had one, and gave the trooper his name and the state it was issued from. When Cluff discovered that the man had no license in that state, Carr told him that it was out of California. I just had this feeling something was up, said Cluff. There were discrepancies in all of their stories.Cluff informed them that he was impounding the vehicle, since none of the cars occupants had a valid license. FBI agent Tim Childs flew in to question Carr, along with Trooper Cluff and UHP Sergeant Roger Cutler. Carr confessed to commiting bank robberies in Spokane, WA, Coeur d Alene, ID, Portland, OR, and Pocatello, ID. Daniel Seaman and Cynthia Carr were not charged in connection with the crimes. The night following the arrest, Carr attempted suicide in the Kane County Jail.
