Show Symphony Presents "Pops" Concert Everpone in the state will have a chance to enjoy the Utah Symphony Orchestra in a "Pops" Concert this season with three free concerts on the schedule at Salt Lake City, January 4. Utah State University at Logan on January 10 and Brigham Young University on January 13. The "Pops" concert has been staged in Salt Lake City for six years with an overflow ojowd every season. As a result the additional concerts have been arranged to make it possible for more people to hear the orchestra or-chestra more conveniently. The concerts will be sponsored by the Utah Oil Refining Company Com-pany and tickets may be secured se-cured at any local Utoco service station at no cost and with no obligation. Parents are urged to make it "'family, night" at the symphony. The program Is arranged ar-ranged to appeal to everyone. Starting time at all three concerts con-certs will be 8 p.m. instead of the usual 8:30. Reid Nibley will perform as soloist in George Gershwin's Phapsody in Blue and Bob Lentz will be. featured in the rousing and entertaining"Worried Drummer" Drum-mer" by Schreiner. Also on the program will be Wagner's Festival March from Tannhauser; Bach's Air on G String; Evening Prayer and Dream Pantomine from Humper-dinck's Humper-dinck's Hansen and Gretal; Du-kas' Du-kas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Wagner's Ride of the Val-kries. |
