Show AoliifflB Weddings hi Evening Aloxandor-Allen Wedding and Reception Recep-tion and. Pratt-Lennon Home Ceremony. Beautiful in their simplicity were the appointments of the wedding of MIsb Llla Alexander and Wing Bancroft Allen, Al-len, which took place Inst evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Alexander. Rev. Dr. Padcn read the Impressive marriage aorvlce of the Presbyterian church in the presence of relatives and a few close friends. The brlday party stood beneath be-neath a canopy of plumoaa, dotted hero and there with bows of white tullo, with tall vases of white- chrysanthemums chrysanthe-mums on either side. These same flowers flow-ers were used on the mantel, while In the library were eeen American Beauties, Beau-ties, with rose pink carnations in the hall. Especially effective was the decoration dec-oration of the dlnlng-table. The table occupied one corner of tho room, with streamers and bows of white tulle forming form-ing a canopy above. A cloth of exquisite exqui-site Battenberg covered the table, with a tall cutglass vase of pink chrysanthemums chrysanthe-mums for a centerpiece, the flowers reaching to the canopy of tulle above. Crystal candlesticks holding white candles can-dles lighted the board and stood on a shelf Just back of tho canopy. At 8:30 o'clock a stringed oroheBtra In the hall abovo began the strains of tho beautiful "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin, aa the bridal party descended descend-ed the stairs. Dr, Paden came first, followed by the groom and his best man, Ashley D. Cleveland, then the maid of honor, Miss Sarah Alexander; lastly the bride with her father. The bride's gown was an exquisite one of white crepe de chine, with trimmings of Valenciennes and rose point. Her veil was of tidle and she carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the 'valley. Miss Sarah Alexander was gowned in white point d'-esprlt over taffeta, and carried American Beauties. During the reading of the marrlago service the orchestra played the ever popular "To My Wife" (Lemaro), and as the blessing was pronounced, tho glnd strains of the Mendelssohn were heard. Then the relatives and friends pressed forward to extend their good wishes and congratulations to the happy couple. Prom 9:S0 to 11 o'clock a large reception recep-tion was held, several hundred Invitations Invita-tions having been issued. Tho bridal party was assisted In receiving by Mr. and Mrs. Alexander. Mrs. William Bayly. Jr.. Mrs. Herbert Brown, Miss Miller, Miss Marge Miller, the Misses Buckingham. Mr. and Mrs. Allen left on the late train for a short trip to the coast, and will be at home to their friends at 437 Third street after January 1. The groom is assistant business manager of The Tribune, and is well known hero and in Omaha, his former home. His bride also formerly lived In Omaha, and was popular In Us social circles. |
