Th Contoat to Taka I'laoa lntwin tb fartisani sad The election for school trustees will take place on Monday, at which time all who feel an iuteresl iu tho main-tenance and promotion of Zion's educa-tional system are urged to be on hand and see that the spirit of the schools is preserved. There are two tickets in the field, one of which has been launched by the anti-part-liners or liberals, while the latter is the resuit of non partisan deliberations in which democrats, republicans and lib-erals took part. There is no issue upon which the contest rets save that of keeping politics out of the schoolliou.se, and with this determination on the part of a majority independent of polities, it is safe to predict the election of the ti"ket. This afternoon Mrs. Dr. Allen of Beatrice, came to Ellis on a visit to her brother, John H. 1'uterbaugh, who lives a milo and a half south of town. She was driven to the farm by Louis IVttiug, and knocked at thetloor-- I nit. received no response. Thjy en, tered, the door not being locked, and found a horrible state of affairs. Her brother was lying on tho lloor, his face covered with blood, and in bed was his wife with a bullet through her head In the bed with her was a two-yea- r old baby also shot through the head. On a lounge in the room was another bed occupied by two young girls, one thir-teen and one fifteen, bolh dead with bul-let holes in their heads. How they met their terrible fato is yet unknown. The general belief is that the terrible deed was the work of the husband and father. The facos of the tleati, although covered with blood were as calm as though sleep-ing. All seemed to have beou killed while sleeping, aad were shot directly through the skull. J'uterbaugli was not a drinking man.
