Show EMMA SILVER MAKES REPORT stockholders of the emma dilver mines company concluded their postponed annual meeting on the 1st ast with the election of the following directorate A L hoppaugh J E galigher charles S burton J herlihy and F B cooke officers were chosen at a meeting t of the board of directors that was held later I 1 the financial statement of the company it submitted to the stockholders was as follows for the year ended september 30 1920 receipts reorganization treasury stock interest sales miscellaneous total receipts expenditures balance september 30 1920 resignation of george H dern as manager has been accepted but his successor has not yet been decided on engineer makes report A report on the mine by M M johnson was also submitted to the stockholders A geological report and map of the property was made by J J beason their recommendation was that operations be suspended below the bay city tunnel level because of the heavy expense necessary to pump water from the workings mr johnson recommended a campaign of work above the day bay city level to locate faulted segments of the ore bodies to the north of the emma body during the past year almost all of the work done by the company has been prosecuted along the montezuma fault below the day bay city level in an effort to locate the north limb of the faulter faulted emma ore body where it was cut off about feet below the third level by the hiawatha fault which parallels the montezuma fault two diamond drill holes were sunk but this work was stopped due to the holes encountering caving ground one at a depth of feet and the other at feet on account of heavy expense in keeping the mine until casing for the drill holes could be secured mr johnson advised the temporary abandonment of this work until further exploration work for the ore bodies to the north could be done on the upper levels if the upper level exploration 1011 work i meets with success the development at lower levels can be taken up again with a better knowledge of conditions the wasatch drain tunnel will have to be extended approximately feet to open the emma territory and mr johnson advised against the company undertaking this work because the mine has not ore reserves warranting the expenditure of which would be required to make the extension directors of the emma silver mines company have chosen the following officers C J S burton president J E galigher vice t president F B cook secretary and treasurer M M johnson was appointed consulting engineer to direct mine operations and james quick mine superintendent |
