Show Parnellites After Churchill. London, March 3. The Parnellites occupied occu-pied five hours of time in the House of Commons Com-mons last night with the question regarding the Belfast election, raised on the private bill dealing with drainage in Belfast. Sir William Harcourt, Chancellor of the Exchequer, deprecated the raising of questions ques-tions of public policy on private bills. He strongly urged thatdomestic affairs could be settled much bettertn Ireland than in the House of Commons?. Ultimately the previous previ-ous question was Voted by 200 to 34. It is rumored that the objjeot of the Parnellites was to shelve the ChOTchill motion. The House agreedVco Mr. Bradlaugh's motion mo-tion that a government bureau be established estab-lished similar to that in the United States, for the collection of labor statistics. |
