Show MARCH L, , 1987 Ducks Unlimited sets annual banquet For 14 games during her senior season, Laytons Kari Barnes was proving to everyone that she was among the best. But in practice as the season wound down, an injury ended her career, and with it, the Lancers chances of going to state. ; Kari averaged 11.4 points per game in league, and her absence both offensively and defensjvely really showed for Layton. Fortunately, she is reportedly recovering nicely from the injury. HEATHER PEEL Davis High One look at Heather Peel and you think she should be a cheerleader, or a student body officer. But .this junior beauty can really play. Her speed and versatility helped the Darts into the state tournament this year, where they nearly upset Region Two champ Orem in the opening game. Peel averaged 15.1 points per game, and gives the young Darts plenty of reason to look forward to next season. The Bay Area Chapter of Ducks Unlimited (named for Farmington and Ogden Bays) has announced that its third annual banquet will be held at the Valley View Golf Course Club house in Layton on May 1, 1987. Chapter Chairman Bruce Andersen feels the fund raising function should be marked on the calendar by anyone who is interested in the future of North Americas waterfowl. During this fiftieth anniversary year for Ducks Unlimited, said Andersen we invite everyone to our third annual couples banquet. W e are fast developing a reputation of having the best fund raising couples dinner in the State of Utah. There will be door prizes, a raffle, and an auction featuring Ducks Unlimited artwork and many other fine items. But most important is all money raised will- be going to a wildlife conservery good cause KRISTIN PACKER Davis High For Kristin Packer, this season was her final one, and as the only senior on the Davis team, two losses and a quick exit from the state tournament were a disappointing finish. But she made an impact for the Darts all year. Averaging 9.3 points per game on offense, Kristins major contribution was on the boards. She had many double-figur- e - vation.
