Reflex-Journ- LAYTON The second grade students at E.G. King Elementary celebrated National Newspaper Week by learning how a newspaper is put together. Last Wednesday, Tom Busscl-bereditor of the Davis Reflex Journal and Doneta Gatherum, a reporter for that same paper spoke to the second grade students of g, Mrs. Arave, Mrs. Hurst, Mrs. Hart and Mrs. Farris. Mr. Busselberg brought samples of type setting, lay outs, processed photos and the finished newspaper. He told the students how reporters get information for stories and what happens after the story is written on a typewriter. He also explained the printing process. al Mrs. Gatherum talked about her assignment for the paper. She helped the students develop a short news story. The guests were impressed with the enthusiasm of the second graders, the questions they asked and the way they behaved during the hour-lon- g presentation. |
