The leader of a symposium on energy efficient construction said it doesn't happen all that often but often enough that a home owner or general contractor should be aware of the actual needs of a house. Johnson told educators, housing authorities, contractors and students at the symposium that contractors don't mean to mis- match heating systems, but are either unaware of what is needed or are working with outdated information. all-da- y symposium was by the BYU Building Construction Management Program of the Industrial Education Department, Provo City and the Utah Energy Office. Johnson's remarks mostly centered around energy efficient construction techniques for the contractor or homeowner interested in making sure the contractor builds a new home as energy efficient as possible.
