Miss Opal West, who is teaching in Salt Lake City, spent the week-1 end here with her parents, Mr. andj Mrs. Joseph West. j Mrs. Ethel Brinley, who has been ill for the past month, is slowly improving. im-proving. Mrs. Elizabeth Dixon of American Pork was a guest at the Blackwell home Saturday. James Woolstenhume is very seriously ser-iously ill at the L. D. S. hospital at Salt Lake City. Mrs. Effie B. Adamson has been ill for the past week from influenza and complications. N. P. Jensen, who has been ill for several months, is slightly improved im-proved in health. Lucille Boren returned Monday from a three weeks visit with Miss Laura Robbins at Santaquin. The Third ward genealogical society so-ciety met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Minnie Anderson. I Mr. and Mi's. Douglass Matthews of Bingham, spent several days the past week with relatives here. Mrs. Lydia B. Lund of Salt Lake City, spent Friday and Saturday here with her daughter, Mrs. Cleone Kirk. Ella Halliday Jackson of Cedar City, spent the past week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Halliday. Hal-liday. Mrs. Elizabeth Newman returned home Sunday from the L. D. S. hospital where she has been confined ' for the past five weeks. The Third ward Relief Society gave a successful house dress and I overall dance in their ward amuse -' ment hall Friday evening. I ' I : Lucille Wadley, who has been em- ployed as desk clerk at the Utah ! legislature in Salt Lake City, re- ; turned home Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Larson left Thursday for Twin Falls, Idaho, i where Mr. Larson will be employed by the W. T. Raleigh Co. The Third Ward M. I. A. is preparing pre-paring the three-act play, "Always in Trouble" or "The Hoodooed Coon". It will be presented in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nelson and j Mr. and Mrs. Dell Banks of Spanish Fork, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Williams Monday and Tuesday. Tues-day. The Misses Angelyn and Mariam Warnick attended a shower in honor hon-or of Phyllis Anderson at the Anderson Ander-son home in Lehi Saturday evening. Miss Anderson will wed Robert Webb ,of Lehi on March 20th. I The Misses Mary, Reva and Dorothy Doro-thy Jense attended a shower Saturday Satur-day evening at Lehi in honor of Miss Phyllis Anderson at her home. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Chipman of American Fork, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dixon of Provo, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence S. Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Boren and daughters, Verona and Effie, attended attend-ed the silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. William Boren at Charleston Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Clark and family, who have spent about two years at San Jose, California, returned return-ed to Pleasant Grove recently and are moving into their old home. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Larson and family were guests last Sunday of Mr. Larson's sister, Mrs; Leonard Adams and family at Salt Lake City. The "M" Men and Gleaner girls of the Manila ward held an honor party par-ty Tuesday evening at the home of Miriam Warnick. Fifteen guests were present. Mrs. Vern Chipman and children, Dorothy and Richard A., of American Ameri-can Fork, spent Wednesday with Mrs. Chipman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Wadley. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Mellor of Payson, visited Tuesday with Mrs. Mellor's sister, Mrs. Ethel Drysdale, while enroute home from a trip through California and the north- ; west. I Mrs. Wesley J. Beck entertained :at dinner Wednesday evening - ill honor of her birthday. The guests included the following relatives: Mrs. J. C. Beck and Mr. and Mrs. Loy Beck of Alpine, Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Beck of American Fork and Miss Ardena Atwood of this city. : Word has been received by relatives rela-tives of the birth of a baby boy on (March 8 to Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Schow of Milford. The mother form- j erly was May Baxter of the Windsor ward. The grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Baxter, is in Milford to help !care for the little stranger. Mother and baby are doing nicely. ' Mr. and Mrs. Duanne Harper entertained en-tertained last Wednesday evening at !a social. The evening was spent in ! progressive games. The "M" Men, Vanguards and Boy Scouts of the Manila ward have met and appointed committees to prepare' pre-pare' a program for the summer's recreation work. Glenroy Iverson, Warnick Swenson and Grant Atwood At-wood are the general committee with the following special committees: Tennis George Warnick, Whittaker Roundy and Ray Ellis; Baseball Orvil Wadley, Carl Pack and Keith Warnick; Trackmeet Alex Wadley and Richard Swenson. Mrs. Ezra Swenson and daughter, Loraine, attended a shower at Lehi Thursday evening given in honor of Mrs. Blame Swenson, who was formerly form-erly Audery Davis. The social was given by Mrs. LeRoy Davis. Miss Alice Bingham of Tuscon, Arizona, returned home Tuesday after a two months' visit with relatives rela-tives here. She was accompanied by Miss Mercelle Farr, who will visit indefinitely with relatives in Tus-1 I con. I Mrs. Thora Linebaugh entertained ! at a bridge luncheon Thursday eve- j ning at the home of Dr. B. C. Line-' baugh.
