Show ALPiNE NEWS Mrs. L. Dates, Reporter. At the City election Tuesday the Republican tickei was elected. There were two tickets in the field, the Republican, Re-publican, and the Citizen. 137 votes were cast 73 Republican 50 Citizen and 12 scratched tickets. The winners win-ners are as follows: John "Whitby, mayor; Fred Strong, 4-year Councilman; Council-man; Leonard Bates, William Healey and Leland Beck, 2-year Councilmeir Alvin Whitby, Recorder; Madeline Wilkin, Treasurer. Mrs. Martha Wilkin and Mrs Ernest Clark and eon, Lloyd, attended the funeral services of Richard Wilkin at Granger, Thursday. The Gleaner Girls entertained their partners, the "M" Men, Junior Girls the Van Guards, the M. I. A. officers and the bishopric and their wives at a hallowe'en party in the gym Saturday Sat-urday evening. 75 people enjoyed the games, etc., which were the order of the evening. 'Mrs. Ray Slater, Mrs. John Knud-son, Knud-son, and Mr. and Mrs. Hiney of Salt Lake, were Wednesday guests of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Ben-jamin Bates. Mrs. Will J. Strong entertained the Young Mothers Club at her home Thursday afternoon. The usual activities activit-ies were engaged in after which a dainty lunch was served. Misses Alice Clark and Mary Bates entertained a few of their young friends at the Bates' home Monday night. After spending the evening ln; games lunch was served. There were fifteen present. The many friends of Mr. James C. Healey will b pleased to hear that he is improving after many weeks of illness. He was able to go to the polls Tuesday to cast his rote. |
