Show Prof. Sauls Gives Talk On Russia At Lions Club Prof. Sauls, o! the B. Y. U., gave a most interesting talk before Uie American Fork Lions Club here j Thursday evening on conditions in Russia as he found them on a recent tour as secretary of the U. S. Commission, Com-mission, which was detailed to investigate in-vestigate the Russian Jew coliniza- tion project in Siberia. He gave a graphic picture of the I condition there, high lights of which were; the old Czar government, revolution, revo-lution, the new government, Jewish problem and Russia's adoption of new modern ideas, methods, etc. He expressed the opinion that Russia will advance and become a power in the world during the next fifty years. He found the Russians abandoning all old ideas, establishing new modern industrial, electrical and manufacturing manufactur-ing plants, railroads and building and establishing schools and universities throughout the country. A desire to j advance and learn generally prevalent preval-ent and all have a desire to secure education, he said. In conclusion he cautioned his listeners to take both the flowerv and the extremely bad reports of Russian conditions with a grain of salt. During the meeting President G. S. Richards was given a rousing vote of thanks for his work and efforts in securing the state training school for ! our city. Reports were given and I committees appointed.
