Lee Kirk and children, Helen and Bill, returned to their hon.e in Helper Saturday, after a two weeks visit here with relatives and friends. Miss Edith Thornton is spending a two weeks vacation in Los Angeles, California, visiting with her sister, Mrs. Frank Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Chadwick are happy over the arrival of a fine baby daughter Sunday evening. Mother and babe are getting along nicely. Since returning to Hollywood after aft-er a recent visit here yith his parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Noyes, Dr. Le Grande Noyes, who is medical director direc-tor of the Hollywood hospital, has been taken into the Association of Technical Directors, to direct that portion of pictures which pertain to hospitals and medicine. Charming- in every detail was the delicious dinner given Wednesday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Rus-son, Rus-son, in honor of their wedding anniversary. anni-versary. Covers were marked for ten close friends and relatives. A bowl of sweet peas and roses formed a pretty centerpiece for the dining table. Following dinner, music and games were the feature diversions. Eli J. Clayson, 'president of the Utah County Farm Bureau Association, Associa-tion, George W. Brown, secretary, and County Agent W. J. Thayne were appointed a- the committee to work out a program for the annual meeting meet-ing of the Utah county farm bureau to be held in the agricultural rooms at the Provo city and county building next Monday night, January 20. Mr. Thayne says plans are being made for a large delegation from Utah county at the annual convention of the state farm bureau and allieg organizations or-ganizations in Salt Lake City January 21, and 23. Miss Ardene Olsen entertained Saturday evening in honor of Miss Lyle Healey, who left the follov.-ing Tuesday for Salt Lake City to enter the Holy Cross hospital for training. Games were enjoyed by '.he bidden guests, followed by luncheon. The G. A. Club held an interesting interest-ing meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. E. P. Evans. Rudolph Konold, president of the American Fork Poultry Association, gave a short talk and Dr. C. T. Jones gave an instructive lecture on "Chicken Diseases". Refreshments were served at the conclusion of the meeting. There were twenty present. Miss Lola Rohbins of Pleasant Grove, sister of Charles Rohbins of this city, left Salt Lake City Thursday Thurs-day for an L. D. S. mission to the southern states. She has been in the ' capitol city the past two weeks attending at-tending the Missionary School previous pre-vious to her leaving. "Rook" was the feature entertainment entertain-ment at a delightful party given last Friday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Coddington at their home. Prizes for high score were won by Mrs. Glen Sykes and Emery Nicholes. A dainty dain-ty two course luncheon was served at midnight. Each of the four tables in progress was centered with a dainty dain-ty bowl of sweet peas. Mrs. Harry Steele was elected the new president for the Bee Orchis club at their meeting last Friday at the home of Mrs. Bert Timpson. Mrs. Warren Anderson.was selected as vice-president for the ensuing year. Following the business of the meeting, meet-ing, progressive "Bunco" was enjoyed, enjoy-ed, prizes being won by Mrs. Glen L. Taylor and Mrs. G. S. Richards. Early in the evening, the hostess served a delicious hot supper. There were fourteen present. Mrs. Vern Walker will entertain the ladies at her home next Thursday, January 23. All members are invited to be present. pres-ent. Mrs. F. K. Sullivan and tyo children child-ren left Monday morning for San Pedro, California, to join Dr. Sullivan after a month's visit here with her parents, Mr. and "Mrs. J. E. Buck-waiter. Buck-waiter. The Sullivan family have made their home in Norfolk, Virginia, the past eight months, and will now reside in the sunny state indefinitely, Dr. Sullivan, who is employed on the U. S. Medical Corps, being transferred transferr-ed there. Dr. Sullivan, who left a month ago made the trip to California Califor-nia by boat over the Panama Canal route, and Mrs. Sullivan and children have traveled by rail. Mrs. Sullivan ! was before her marriage,. Bliss Mildred Mil-dred Buckwalter. A delightful social event of the week was the birthday party given Saturday evening by Mrs. S. T. Shelley Shel-ley in honor of her daughter, Sarah's thirteenth anniversary. Games and radio music were the entertaining features, followed by a dainty two-course two-course lunch. The guests present included in-cluded Misses Ellen Walker, Vivian Lee, Fern Shelley, Eda Ashby, June Holmstead, Idona Miller, Edith Pres-j ton and Helen Devey. The bridge-luncheon which Mrs. Byron Crookston presided over at her home Tuesday afternoon was one of the charming social events of the week. Sweet peas were used effectively effec-tively in the house decorations. Four tables of the card diversion were enjoyed, en-joyed, prizes for high score being won by Mrs. Howard Nicholes and Mrs. Thomas A. Barratt, and the consolation favor by Mrs. C. A. Pier-son.
