Show Services Held ; For H. Ray j Newman Funeral services, comforting and impressive, were held in the Third ward chapel Saturday at 2:00 p. m. fcr Harold Ray Newman, who pass-Ed pass-Ed away Thursday morning after a short illness from pneumonia. Eishcp Frank D. Atwood conducted. The opening nuin'ocr was a solo by Stella Hardman, "Sometime We'll Understand". Accompanist fcr the services was Mrs. Mary Neves. Frank B. Newman cffeied the invocation and a solo "Sweet Hour cf Frayer" '..us sung by Miss Helen Payne. George W. Larson, principal cf the Junior High School, spoke first telling of the many fine qualities cf Roy. He told cf the contact with the Giver of life and said that life is too soft for most of us. Strength comes through the pricks cf life, he said, and went on to point out that Ray was always courteous and never impudent. Ernest Clayton, a neighbor, said he had always found him cheerful and trying to do right. He said he thought God is a business man, and placed us here to see what we can do with our lives. W. W. Lim of the ward bishopric spoke of his association associa-tion with the family and paid them a high tribute. Bishop Atwood spoke in closing, thanking all who had been helpful at the home and the services. Mrs. Mary Neves played an organ solo "Oh My Father" interspersing the speakers and the closing number, num-ber, "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows" was sung by Miss Payne. Neil Fugal offered the benediction and the grave at the City cemetery was dedicated by Joseph H. Adams. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers and a large attendance at the services. |
