Show Funeral Services For Arthur Harris Held Wednesday Funeral services for Arthur D. Harris, 78, who died Sunday, Jan. 31, were held Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. in the First-Fifth First-Fifth Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Doyle B. Young of the Pleasant Grove Fifth Ward. Speakers who told of the active ac-tive and useful life of Mr. Harris Har-ris were Iowa Hall and Ruelon Robbins. Bishop Young also gave brief remarks. Barbara Jones gave a life sketch. Musical numbers were given by Pamala Harris Melby, who played "Oh My Father" and by William E. Petersen, who sang "Abide with Me" accompanied accom-panied by Katherine Woolf. Mrs. Woolf also played prelude pre-lude and postlude music. Family prayer was given by William E. Harris, and invocation invoca-tion and benediction was pronounced pro-nounced by Richard Thornton and Jack E. Cook. The grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, was dedicated by Stanley B. Harris. Pallbearers were Jimmie Robertson, James Melby, Jeff Harris, Nyle Harris, Paul Harris, Har-ris, Wayne Barnes, and Sterling Sterl-ing Patten. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Fifth Ward Relief Society. Mr. Harris was born Oct. 3, 1892 in Lindon to Edward A. and Polly Walker Harris. He married Mable Joyce Patten Sept. 23, 1913 in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died April 17, 1936. He married Mildred Burge Feb. 5, 1942. She died June 17, 1964. He married Laura Robertson Feb. 14, 1967. Mr. Harris had been a farmer far-mer and dairyman in the Lindon, Lin-don, Orem and Payson areas. He was a member of the LDS Church, holding the office of a High Priest. Survivors include three sons and one daughter: Dale Harris, Lehi; William Harris, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; Joe Harris, Spanish Span-ish Fork; Mrs. Arnold (Helen) Jones of Lehi; 15 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, 6 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters sis-ters also survive, Stanley B., Orem; Ralph, Pleasant Grove; Lester, Midvale and Mrs. George (Leah) Miller, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Leonard (Inez) Miller Mesa, Ariz., two stepsons, Glen H. Robertson, j Salt Lake City and James L.F Robertson, Ogden. |
