The meticulous lohhy is indicative of the meticulous care and Hervice that gv s into the repair and pairit:r.h' at Deans Auto IixJy Another unique ft.-ature of Dean's is the heparati'.n of the body hhop from the paint nhop. The body shop is on the west side of Industrial Road, the office and paint shop are on the east side. Ostler explains that body repair creates dust, and painting must be doni: in a dust free environment environ-ment in order to leave the nicest finish. Dean's paint shop consists con-sists of a large prep area and two booths that use the computerized I'I'G I'aint System. "All our paint is custom mixed," says Ostler After the cars are painted, the paint is baked just like in the factory A paint job at Dean's looks as good as new sometimes even better. Dean's also has a hot rod shop where antique vehicles vehi-cles and street rods are restored and repainted. Several of these unique vehicles have been exhibited exhibit-ed in car shows. Some have been featured in national Fred From Front Puge "I love to sit and listen to the children singing," he said. American Heritage students stu-dents are getting used to seeing Mr. Roberts greet them nt the door every morning. "The younger students think I'm really old because in their eyes the older you are the bigger you get," he laughed. One student asked if he was a giant. "We have a lot of fun with my size," he said. "And I only have to bend down through a few doorways." American Heritage School is building a new campus in American Fork that is set to be done in July and opened for the next school year. "I'm really excited about it," Roberts said. "It's going to be beautiful. There are quite a few challenges to moving from a little building build-ing here to go there. It's like moving to a new city." The new campus will house an auditorium, a sports field, a gymnasium and a large art room, things that the smaller campus in Pleasant Grove couldn't provide. "We've had great support from our parents, teachers. Board of Trustees, and students," stu-dents," Roberts said. "That's what I like about this school, the spirit here, the parents, all make my job go smoothly. I'm excited about this school's potential." mil ' T- I '-" -t: J vr,'l ULX'JUl ,11. "We've had cars featured in 'Street Rodder,' 'Fat Fords,' and 'Chevy Specialists,'" says Ostler. A truck he painted recently made the cover of "Peterson's 4-Wheel Off Road" magazine. The body shop is also impressive. Three frame racks can straighten bent frames. One large rack can pull up to 30 tons. All of Dean's employees are I-Car certified technicians. Collision repair and refin-ishing refin-ishing is the backbone of his business. Ostler is pleased with the good relationships he has with local insurance companies. Car owners have confidence confi-dence in bringing their damaged vehicles to Dean's because the work is done right. Ostler gives a lifetime guarantee on paint and body work Ostler began working for Dean's original owner, Dean Hood, 15 years ago. He began work as a painter, then moved up to doing estimates on repairs. He bought the shop in July, 2001. Dean's Auto recently received Good Housekeeping's "Best Housekeeping Award," an indication of quality and service. Ostler is proud of this recognition and says, "I'm fussy and meticulous about the work I put out. I personally inspect everything every-thing before it leaves the shop."
