Show Native Pleasant Grove Lady Dies In Los Angeles Mrs. Sarah Ellen Thorne West, native Utahn, died Tuesday noon at the home of a daughter, in Los Angeles, after a Jong illness. She was born in Pleasant Grove, March 19, 1880, a daughter of Joseph E. and Nancy Holman Thorne. She was married to Leonard West in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jan 15, 1902. At the time of her death, Mrs. West had been a member of the Wilshire LDS Ward, Los Angeles Stake. Survivors include her husband, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City; eight sons and daughters, Mrs. Bertha Gudmundsen, Mrs. Jenav Liddle, Mrs. Eva McQuire and Elmer West, Salt Lake City; Steve L. West, Riverton, and Mrs. Lucile Dale, Mrs. Thelma Matthews, and Joseph H. West, Los Angeles; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gene-l've Gene-l've Robertson, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Florence R. Brown, Los Angeles, and one brother Charles E. Thorne, Hollywood, Calif. Burial will be in Utah. |
