Show Robert Mitchell's Funeral Is Held Monday Impressive funeral rites were conducted Monday afternoon, for Robert Mitchell, 82, who died March 14, at the home of a daughter daugh-ter Mrs. Horrace Hadfield of Lehi. The services were held in the Pleasant Grove Second Ward chapel, under direction of the ward bishopric, with Counselor J. Reed Peterson conducting. Invocation was offered by Wm. Blackwell. Ray Shelley, accom- panied by Mrs. uwen numpnnes sang "Face to Face." A very interesting sketch of the life and labors of Mr. Mitchell was given by a nephew, David Hand. Speakers who paid tribute to the life and character of the deceased de-ceased were Ray S. Merrill and Bishop Wm. Hadfield. Both told of his hard work and thrift, also of his kindness and loyalty to his church and great faith in God. The speakers were interspersed by a vocal duet "O My Father" by Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen. They were accompanied by Miss Beverly Wright, who also played prelude and postlude organ music. Closing remarks were made by Mr. Peterson after which Mr Shelley, Shel-ley, accompanied by Mrs. Humphries, Humph-ries, sang the closing number, "Going Home." I Benediction was pronounced by W. Robert Marrott. I Prior to the services, prayer in the home was offered by Reed O. j Walker of the high council. Burial directed by Olpin Mor- ' tuary, was made in the family plot in the Pleasant Grove City cemetery, ceme-tery, where the dedicatory prayer was offered by Horrace Hadfield, a son-in-law. Pallbearers included Alfred Dexter, Dex-ter, Reed O. Walker, Wm. Pearce. H. B. Warnick, Ray S. Merrill, E. L. Jarvis. Flowers were cared for by the Second Ward Relief Society. A son of David Alexander and Christina Frost Mitchell, he was born in Payson, Jan 31, 1870. On Jan. 2, 1901, he married Ethel Maud Jeppson in Pleasant Grove. They resided in Birdseye, Utah County, and Salt Lake City before moving to Pleaasnt Grove. Mrs. Mitchell died Feb. 18, 1949. He is survived by four daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Bryant Hicks and Mrs. Orson Lee, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Horrace Hadfield, Lehi and Mrs. R. G. Smith, Richland, Washington, Washing-ton, Wash; 13 grandchildren; 8 great - grandchildren, and two |
