Show Inez J. Karren "v ' . .- ""t t 1 r ? .. Inez Jones Karren, age 80, died Dec. 20, 1987 in Pleasant Grove. She was born April 24, 1907 in Provo, Utah to A. Will and Emma Groneman Jones. She married Alex V. Karren Oct. 24, 1927 in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Karren was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as ' Relief Society organist for over 50 years. She was also an organist for the Alpine Stake Primary. She was the first woman to be president of the President's Council. She was a former member and officer of the Ladies Fire Auxiliary in American Fork and statewide. Brown, Lehi; daughter in law, Mrs. Dee (Joyce) Forsyth, American Fork; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Lorna Birk and Mrs. Faun Taylor, both of j American Fork; one brother, William C. Jones, Springville; sister in law, Kate Roberts, American Fork. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert V. Karren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. in the American Fork Stake Center, 240 S. Center. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services, j Burial will be in the j American Fork City Cemetery. She was active in the Cultural Arts Club. She organized and participated par-ticipated in the Senior Citizen's Fun Band. Her special talent of playing the piano has been a joy to her and so many others. She is survived by her husband, American Fork; one daughter: Mrs. Leo Jim (JoAnn) , Harold T. Johnson Harold Thomas Johnson, age 75, of Lehi, died Dec. 21, 1987 in American Fork of cancer. He was born Aug. 25, 1912 in Provo, to James Edwin and Marian Jones Johnson. He married Mildred Annie Shelton. They were later divorced. He attended BYU for two years and served in the Navy in World War II for three years. He was a painter by trade. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He is survived by one son, Gary S. Johnson, Lehi; three grandchildren; grand-children; two great grandchildren; one brother, Herb Johnson, California. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi, where friends may call one hour prior to services. ser-vices. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. George L. Steuerwald George L. Steuerwald, Steuer-wald, age 82, died Dec. 20, 1987 in Draper, Utah. He was born May 12, 1905 in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of George and Louisa Steuerwald. He married Helen Webb in Buffalo, N.Y. She died May 23, 1975. He was an employee at U.S. Steel Geneva Plant for many years. He is survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E. 100 North, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery. Brett D. Peterson SANDY - Brett David ; Peterson, our sweet and ' special little three-year-old boy, returned to his ' Heavenly Father Dec. 20, 1987 from injuries he received in an auto-pedestrian auto-pedestrian accident. Brett was born March 25, 1984, in Murray, Utah, to David Brent and Susie Atkinson Peterson. Brett was a very typical happy and funloving youngster, who brought joy and happiness to everyone. He is survived by his parents, David and Susie, of Sandy; brothers and sisters: Jason, Jody and Traci Short, all of Sandy; Mrs. Mike (Jennie) Green, Lehi ; Chad Berl, Derek David and Cara Jo Peterson, all of Lehi; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Berl Peterson, Lehi; Mr. and Mrs. Maren Atkinson, Sandy; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Tew, Lehi; aunts, un cles and cousins. Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 24, 11 a.m., in the Sandy Utah LDS Stake Center, 9331 S. 300 East, Sandy. Friends and relatives may call at Goff Mortuary, Mor-tuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the church an hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. Norma H. Gardner Norma Hansen Gardner, 74, of Lindon, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1987 while visiting a son in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was born Feb. 4, 1913 in Mammoth, to Nelson James and Henrietta Kershaw Hansen. She married Louis Samuel Gardner Dec. 23, 1935 in Lovelock, Nev. He died Oct. 16, 1983. She spent her childhood days in Mammoth and Vernal. She attended BYU with a major in education. She was a member of the LDS Church living in the Lindon 7th Ward. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Pleasant Grove Garden Club. She lived in many places as a result of her husband's work, a geologist for the U.S. government, such as Billings, Mont.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Denver, Colo.; and Bangkok, Thailand, where she served as principal of the Bangkok International Children's Center. They retired in Pleasant Grove and later moved to Lindon. She is survived by three sons : Stephen Louis Gardner, Hunt-sville, Hunt-sville, Texas; James Louis Gardner, Salt Lake City; Douglas Hansen Gardner, Lafayette, La.; four grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Jacobsen, Orem. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, Mor-tuary, 500 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. |
