Show FUNERAL SERVICES ARE CONDUCTED FOR JOSEPH EDWARD BUSH A large nuumber of relatives and friends from various points in Utah and Idaho, assembled Sunday Sun-day afternoon in the Second Ward LDS chapel to pay final respects to the memory to J. Edward Bush and express sympathy for his fam- ily. The services, directed by Bishop C. R. Clark, began at 2 o'clock by the Singing Mothers singing When The Mists Have Rolled Away. They were directed by Mrs. Pearl McMillen and accompanied by Mrs. Sarah Clark. Invocation was asked by Burton H. Adams. Mrs. Stella Hardman and Mrs. Viola Beers accompanied by Mrs. Clark, sang In The Garden. Speakers who paid tribute to the memory of Mr. Bush, and offered of-fered words of faith and encouragement encour-agement to the bereaved family were: Miss Hermes Peterson of the B. Y. U. who since early childhood has been a neighbor and close associate of the Bush family, A. L. Cullimore who was at one time Mr. Bushs bishop, and Harry Stagg, a fellow worker of Mr. Bush, with the Salt Lake and Utah Ut-ah Railroad company. All spoke feelinggly of Mr. Bush's kindliness and his inegrity and devotion to duty with his family, his church, and his employers. A tribute to Mr. Bush, written by Thomas Gleason, a close friend was read by Elvin Thorne, who also spoke words of appreciation for the family. In closing remarks Bishop Clark spoks words of sympathy sy-mpathy and condol(ence to the family. Musical numbers interspersing the speakers included a violin solo, Deserted :by Miss Dawn Marie Adams, accomapnied bv Miss Zoe Adams; a vocal solo, Softly Tenderly Ten-derly Jesus Is Calling by Mrs. Edith G. Young, accompanied by Miss Jennie Gleason; and the closing number Behold 'Tis Eventide Even-tide by the Singing Mothers. Benediction Bene-diction was pronounced by Bishop W. P. Whitehead of Provo. Interement directed by Olpin Mortuary was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where , Ray S. Merrill offered the dedicatory prayer. Tall bearers were: Harry S. Richards, H. W. Clark, Guy S. Hillman, Isaac Jacob, H. B. War-nick, War-nick, and H. C. Robertson. Mr. Bush died at his home on Tuesday, February 1, after a long illness. At his bedside in almost constant attendance were his wife, and all of his children, except one son, Leslie Bush, of Dayton. Ohio, vim on account of illnes in his j family was unable to he here. |
