Show Pleasant Grove's Birthday To be Celebrated by Daughters Utah Pioneers On September 13th at the D. IT. P. Relic Hall, the Daughters Of Utah Pioneers, local camp, will celebrate the birthday of our city. The leading feature of the program wll be that of marking mar-king the Relic Hall with a bronze bron-ze plaque containing a brief history of the memorable old building, after which Mayor M. S. Christiansen will dedicate the building as the HaTl of Memories Mem-ories and Center of Pioneer Memorial Park. Formal presentation of the Plaque, which the local cruup has carried as a project for ten years, will be made by Mrs. Kate Carter, president of the state central company. All teachers tea-chers who have taught school in the historic old building will receive re-ceive tribute which is to be given by Rose B. Hayes. All living teachers tea-chers of the old school are- invited in-vited to be present and will re ceive tokens of respect. Dr. Howard R. Driggs, president presi-dent of the Western Land Marks Association will be a featured speaker. President Hilda Cherrington of the Utah County Board of D.U.P. will be present. Special, music is beinR arranged by chorister Cleone Kirk and organist or-ganist Mary Neves. Following theprograni the pub-lie pub-lie is invited to look over the planting that has been done in the new park and see the relics in the hall and log cabins and not to miss the Comunily Fair. |
