Mrs. John Smith, and baby son, Keith, returned to their home in Salt Lake City last Friday, after a three days visit with her mother, Mrs. Lillian K. Brown. The many friends of Max Inger-soll Inger-soll will be pleased to learn that he Is on the improve, after a serious illness of pneumonia. He is at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Bassett, in Delta. Mrs. David S. Taylor was a special guest at a party in Lehi Wednesday afternoon given by Mrs. G. R. Taylor for the Athenian Club members. She also sany several vocal selections during the afternoon. Mrs. Frank Edwards was brought home Tuesday from the L. D. S. Hospital in Salt Lake. Mrs. Edwards recently underwent an operation for appendicitis, but at last reports, is improving very nicely. The following have formed a party and will motor to Salt Lake City this evening to see "Smilin Thru" at the Playhouse theatre: Dr. and Mrs. James M. Grant, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Grant of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin "W. Grant of Pleasant Grove. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Evans of Salt Lake City, and George M. Evans of Payson, were week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Evans. Sunday guests at the Evans home were Mrs. Anderson and son, Laffette, Mrs. Rose Workman and Miss Rhoda Workman of Park City. The Primary officers and teachers of the Fourth ward held their regular business and preparation meeting Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Vern Chipman. Following the various business discissions, a social so-cial hour and refreshments were enjoyed. en-joyed. Covers were" marked for the members mem-bers of the immediate family and a few close friends at a delicious dinner din-ner given by Mrs. Elmer Chipman Monday evening in compliment to the twelth birthday of her son, Curtis. Table appointments were carried out in a color scheme of pink and white. A pretty birthday cake with twelve candles made an attractive table decoration. The Van Guards of the Fourth ward M. I. A. will furnish the special program next Tuesday at the Mutual meeting. Ward members are urged to be present, and an invitation to the public is also extended. Mrs. Leo G. Meredith, Mrs. Helen Heiselt, Mrs. Marion Christensen, Mrs. V. F. Houston and Mrs. A. G. Brockbank were among the guests who attended an afternoon luncheon In Pleasant Grove on Monday given by Mrs. Rulon S. Dixon. The fifth birthday anniversary of Master Jack Cpddington was the motif for a party given by his mother, moth-er, Mrs. Mark Coddington, Saturday afternoon. Twenty little friends were entertained with music and games, after which a dainty repast was served. serv-ed. A large cake lighted with five candles was a feature of the refreshment refresh-ment menu. Miss Berniece Miller returned to V Los Angeles, California, last week, after visiting- the holidays here with Irer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Miller. Mill-er. Previous to leaving, Miss Miller was the honor guest at a bridge-luncheon bridge-luncheon given by her sisters, Mrs. David S. Taylor and Mrs. N. Lee Kirk, at the former's home. The guest list numbered twelve ot Miss Miller's close friends and relatives. Dr. J. F. Noyes arrived home last Wednesday from California, where he spent ten days on business. Mrs. Clyde Birk and baby visited the week-end in Provo with her mother, Mrs. A. Will Jones. Moral D. Steele, head of the Chip-man Chip-man Mercantile Shoe department, Is confined to his home this week with rheumatism. His many friends and patrons are hoping for a speedy recovery. Miss Violet Birk spent Sunday In the capitol city, the guest of friends. Miss Alice Nelson and Mr. Loyal Carter of Provo, were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Bush Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Russon were among those from this city who attended at-tended "Smilin' Thru" at the Playhouse Play-house theatre in Salt Lake City Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Tuttle motored to Salt Lake on Tuesday. Mrs. Tuttle Tut-tle visited with her mother, Mrs. S. E. Hale, while Mr. Tuttle attended to various business matters in the interests in-terests of the J. C. Penney store of this community. W. E. Dunkley, Salt Lake City Freight and Passenger agent of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Paci-fic Railroad, was a business visitor in American Fork on Tuesday. 3iB - - 1 S. F. Grant was elected first vice-president vice-president of the Utah County Sanitary Sani-tary and Heating Engineers, at the annual election of officers held in the K. 0. P. Hall In Provo last Thursday Thurs-day evening. Ales Mortensen of Provo was elected as president. The other officers selected were: second vice-president, Frank Keer of Pay-son; Pay-son; secretary, Earl B. Blumenthal of Provo j treasurer, E. O. Moe of Provo. Niels Fugal of Pleasant Grove, w state representative, was the speaker at the meeting and many other important undertakings were discussed. Social chat and music were enjoyed the remainder of the evening, following dinner. Mrs. Niels Nelson was taken to the L. D. S. Hospital in Salt Lake City last Saturday to receive medical treatment and be operated on for goitre. She will be there indefinitely. At last reports, she wa3 getting along as well as could be expected. Among the out ot town people who attended the funeral services of Mrs. Sophia Greenwood last Thursday afternoon were: Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. A. B.
