Show West Mountain Views Mrs. Roby Meredith Phone Mrs. CarlosSchrammandson, Raymond and daughters, Karla, Roberta and Heidi, motored to Blanding recently where they attended a Kumen Jones family reunion. They also visited Mrs. Schramms parents Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jones and other relatives and friends for five days. Mr. Carl Schramm was honored on his birthday Thursday evening as a group of family members met at his home for pot luck dinner. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Braithwaite, Mr. and Mrs. John Zeeman, Miss Elsie Schramm, Inez Ott, Mrs. Pauline Young and Mrs. Leona Mettcalf of Granger. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lehmburg spent the day. Sunday completed the celebrating as Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Humpreys, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Samuelson of Salt Lake and Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Payson came to visit and extend greetings. Cindy King prepares to appear in the 4-- Horse Show to be held August 6th at, 7:00 p.m. at the Cockleburr Arena. Participants will taken a written test at 6:30 prior to the show. All parents and interested persons are invited to attend. A concession stand will be in operation. The show will be under the Immediate direction of Dwane Haskell. H 4-- H Horse clubs have County meet Members of the Senior Division in the Horse Club in this area placed very high in the County meet held in Pleasant Grove July 27. Chose to go to the state meet in Logan later on were Vicky Jarvis, Palmyra; Jerry Lee Shepherd and Iva Dell Sorenson, Lake Shore; and Kim Hansen, Benjamin. They will be joined bv three members from the north end of the county. Wayne Shepherd, Lake Shore and Jeff Haskell, Payson are alternates. Carey Harmer, Payson, was a member of the team from this area. Due to a delay in his return from a trip to California he was unable to attend. Jeff Haskell, the alternate from the region show, was thus able to participate. 4-- H 53 Construction THE GAD-A-BOUT- S 445-333- 2 Billie June Erekson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ereckson; Lynda Tanner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Tanner and Diane Barnett of Payson left Sat., July 25th, by car for Danville, 111., hometown of Diane. They will spend two weeks with Dianes family and will tour many points of interest, especially at Nauvoo and other LDS places. Mrs. Ethel Hirst and Mr. Charles Hirst were dinner guests on Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gerow of Provo. Other guests present were Julie and Bill Gerow, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Boel and two sons, Kenneth and Michael, and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gerow of Provo. Mr. Paul Schwab of Mountain View, California arrived Monday for a weeks vacation with his sister and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schwab of Payson. Tuesday evening the five enjoyed a family dinner at Oak Crest Inn. Fund Madolm Onon Phone 465 2345 children of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Christensen, Salt Lake City, are visiting frequently in Payson while their parents are in Europe this summer. Mr. Christensen, a music instructor at Highland High School in Salt Lake City, is associated with the Foreign Study League and is head instructor for the 180 students in the Utah group which will visit five countries in a tour. His wife, former Bonnie Ockerman, is accompany- six-we- ek Mrs. Mary Morganson joined with Mr. and Mrs. LeVere VanAusdalfor aday in the beautiful Uinta Mountains and Basin. They visited friends and relatives and report a very enjoyable day. Mr. and Mrs. OdisOttie returned Friday from a three week visit to Texas, their home state and New Mexico. They were united with Mr. Otties brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Ottie of Galveston whom he had not seen for eight years. They also stopped at Aztec, New Mexico to visit two friends whom they had not seen for forty years. They were Mr. Brad Spriller who is very aged and his son, George Spriller and family. They visited the zoo at San Antonio, Texas and just missed the train robbery of the little miniature train. Their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ottie and children of Grantsville, Utah stayed at the Ottie home during the absence of the Otties. Gary Seamons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sharon Seamons arrived by plane at the Salt Lake Airport on Monday from Riverton, Wyo. He has been employed as an uranium mine staker for his uncle for the past two months. Wendy Bishop, LuAnn DeHart, Janet Hiatt and Marjean Erekson were among the thirty girls to board the bus Thursday for Oakland, California and surrounding points of interest. The girls have completed five years of MIA Certification activities. While at Oakland they will do baptismal work at the LDS temple and attend the pageant presented July 27 to Aug. 10 at the temple grounds. A young married couple, Sterling and Judy Christiansen Hill, formerly of West Mountain, are in the chorus cast. Mrs. Violet Gold and Mrs. Larry Brown were happy to greet Mr, Golds cousin and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Adams and three daughters of Oakley, Idaho on Tuesday. They were enroute to Los Angeles where they were to witness the marriage of their son in the Los Angeles Temple and to attend his wedding reception. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Kenison and son spent from Thursday until Saturday at Hurricane where they attended the production Promised Valley. Mrs. Kenisons (Phylis) brother, Mr. Larry LeBaron, had a leading part. They also enjoyed a stop at Fish Lake. Mrs. Vera Bishop accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Brant Bishop of Provo, a grandson and wife, to Overton, Nevada recently. They also enjoyed camping and fishing at the (edar City mountain. Mountain 4-- H Trophy Trotters members who attended the regional meet at Arrowhead were Gordon Kenison, Don-a- ls Robbins, Layne Williamson and Owen Wignall, and their leader, Mrs. Evelyn Ekins. Shauna Pierce also participated and was chosen to be on the team for the county meet. Mrs. Villet Gold surprised her son, Elder Demoin Gold of Palmyra, New York, with a beautiful birthday cake on his birthday, July 27. Mrs. Gold sent money to Mrs. Margaret Rowley who is cook for the Hill Cumorah pageant crew and ask her if she would make him a special cake. Monday Mrs Rowley telephoned Mrs. Gold to inform her of the happiness of Demoin and to say he shared his cake with all the crew. Paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Grover of Dubois, Idaho are also very proud of their Brenda Rowley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rowley has been a 5 day patient at the Palmyra, New York Hospital. She was confined with pneumonia contacted on her journey East. Brenda was chosen as a helper at the Hill Cumorah Pageant. She was released from the hospital and convalesced at a LDS home for a few days before flying home. She was met at the Salt Lake Airport by her parents. While in the hospital she was visited by Elder Demoin Gold who is a LDS West Ward missionary and Mr. and Mrs. Delo Rowley who are attending the pageant. President and Mrs. LeRoy Hill enjoyed canyon dinner with President Hills sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Frances of Spanish Fork at their camper a Rotary Public Hy Four couples, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wignall, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Thomas, Mr. and Mrs, Joe Wilcock and Mr. and Mrs. Oran Finlayson, spent a few days in Denver, Colo., last week. The trip was made in the interest of a new show these men and several others from the area are establishing, called Elmarachi Enterprises, which includes bullfighting, singing and dancing, all presented by professionals from Mexico. The event was staged in Denver and has other bookings in various western states. Mr. and Mrs. G.O. Dunford have enjoyed association with members of their family this summer and Wednesday evening all in the area gathered at their home for the established LDS Family Night. Those attending were Ann Dunford, Salt Lake City; Don and Barbara D. Christensen and daughter of Provo; Ryan and Ruth D. Creer and four children, Spanish Fork; in addition to Kent and Arlene D. Van Wagenen and four children of Scottsdale, Ariz. The three older Van Wagenen children, Shauna, 7; Julie, 6; and Mark, 3; have visited here with their grandparents for several weeks and were joined by their mother and new baby, Valarie, some two weeks ago. Their father arrived later and took them all back to their home in Scottsdale last Friday. Their hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Dunford, previously took a trip with son, Ned, and his wife, Kathryn, to visit family members in Arizona and New Mevico, prior to the departure of Ned and Kathyrn for New Zealand, where he will teach history in the LDS Church College in the coming four years. He was graduated from BYU this spring. Others visiting recently at the Dunford home were Gary and Frances Dunford and son, Jeff, and daughter, Connie, of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
