Show 'Morilia Ann Wilkinson Mills ift Liar'? n?;n.d?nm u.ird M;vto The children of Martha Ann Wilkinson Mills 'ill honor her at an Open House for- her nintietn birthday April 7, 1973 at Hoytsville Ward Cultural Hall. Friends and relatives are invited in-vited to call between 5 and 10 p.m. Mrs. Mills is the mother of six children, three of whom are living, Mrs. George E. (Grace) Pace, Hoytsville, Utah; Mrs. DeWilt (Emma) Harding, Morgan; Fay W. Mills, Portland, Port-land, Oregon. She also raised a niece, Mrs. W. E. (Estella) Thatcher, Portland, Oregon. She has 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was born at Hoytsville, a daughter of Joseph and Martha Ann Mills Wilkinson. Her early schooling was at Hoytsville, and one year at Evanston, Wyoming. Wyom-ing. In 1904 she graduated with a four-year Normal Degree from the Latter-day Saint Uo-iversity Uo-iversity in Salt Lake City. After graduation she taught school in the Coalville district and Hoytsville. Hoyts-ville. June 27, 1906, she married Albert E. Mills in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Hoytsville, Hoyts-ville, until his death in 1942. Through her life she has been active in church, civic organizations, organ-izations, and as a practical nurse in many homes of the area. She was past president of the Hoytsville DUP camp and is still active in the DUP in Salt Lake City. During World War II she worked at Remington Arms Plant in Salt Lake City and later at Hill AFB. In 1945 she started work as a practical nurse at the Latter-day Saints Primary Children's Chil-dren's Hospital in Salt Lake City and worked there until she was called as a missionary to the California mission in Sept. 1952. While on her mission she had the honor of being awarded the Honorary Golden Gleaner Award. After 18 months as a missionary mis-sionary she returned to work at the Primary Children's Hospital. Hos-pital. Later she resigned that position to spend her time in Genealogical Research and Temple work. At present she lives with the Douglas H.Smith family of Salt Lake City and is an active member mem-ber of the Edgehill Ward, Hillside Hill-side Stake. She has a sister, Mrs. J.O. (Cora) Ashcroft.Tremontonand a brother, Lawrence Wilkinson of Hoytsville. I No gifts please. |
