Show Event to raise money for junior racers An estimated 200 businessmen and-women are expected ex-pected at Deer Valley Friday for the 11th annual Business Persons' Team Ski Race. Proceeds will go to help support junior ski racers from Utah. The event is the brainchild of local businessman Jim Gaddis, a two-time All American ski racer. "The money is used for expenses that a lot of the kids can't afford. Travel, equipment and the finest coaches are provided for deserving kids," says Gaddis. "When I started ski racing we had to pay all of our own expenses expen-ses and it was really tough. Skiing has been good to me and I like to think that through our Annual Business Person's Team Race we give something back to the sport that has been so good to all of us." Sponsors of the 1984 event are Deer Valley Resort and Lakeside at Deer Valley Condominium Village. Co-chairman Stein Eriksen stresses that the race is just for fun and is open to skiers of all abilities. On hand this year will be such notable personalities as former Utah Olympians Dick Movitz and Jack Reddish, Red-dish, plus community leaders Spence Eccles, First Security Corporation; Vic Ayers, Gump and Ayers Real Estate; Bob Ward, First Interstate Bank; and Barry Ingham, Carroon and Black. After-race festivities include prize drawings, dinner and refreshments at the luxurious Snow Park Lodge at Deer Valley. The race course is totally visible from the Snow Park Lodge. Spectators are welcome. |
