Show KAC to serve as headquarters The Kimball Art Center is offering a helping hand to the organizers of the U.S. Film and Video Festival by donating space to set up headquarters, a press room and ticket sales. "For a long time I have felt the Art Center should be a cultural center for all kinds of activities in Park City," said Art Center Director Diane Balaban. "So we went to them and said, 'What can we do for you?' "Sure it will mean a lot more work for all of us but I think by providing a base for this important cultural event we will bring more exposure to the Art Center. But it not only means more exposure, it is also an obligation we owe to the community." The Kimball Art Center members' room will serve as a VIP lounge and will provide space for informal seminars. The festival administrative offices will be located in the large classroom on the lower level and the press room will be set up in the downstairs gallery. Tickets for all Film Festival events will be available in the front lobby. To accommodate all of the extra activity, the center is extending its regular hours during the festival. The doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Monday, Mon-day, Jan. 23 through Saturday, Jan. 28 and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29. "I hope that this will help keep the Film Festival in Park City," said Balaban. |
