Show THE PARK CITY Wednesday, June 19, 1974 3 : COALITION Page 10 PARK CITY BRIEFS FRIENDS MERCHANTS MEETING The Park City Merchants Association held a meeting on Wednesday, June 12th. A presentation on the financing of commercial development was given, a merchants information survey being conducted was discussed, and plans for the association's upcoming cocktail party were finalized. At the request of the municipal government, survey forms have been sent to the merchants of Park City. These forms ask for business information concerning the town's businessmen. The underlying reasons for the survey seemed unclear, and merchants expressed mixed reactions as to compliance. It was decided to invite a city official to the next meeting so that the pose of the survey could be explained. The Merchants Association will sponsor a cocktail party on Thursday, June 20th at the Car 19 Lounge. The party will commence at 6:30 PM and live entertainment and door prizes will be awarded. Tickets, which can be purchased from most merchants in town, will cost $2.50 and drinks will be $1. Proceeds from the event will be used for a combined advertising campaign directed toward the promotion of summer and fall tourism. The amount of money raised will be matched by the Greater Park City Company. In turn, this total (up to $3,400) will be matched by Mountainlands. The association's goal is to net $1,450 from the party. This would mean a total of $6,800 after matching contributions. The night of June 16th was exceptionally busy for the Alamo Bar on Main Street. The many friends of owners Bob and Darlene Dean gathered to help raise money to aid in the medical treatment of the Deans sick child. SLOW ON PETITION AGAINST LEHMER Just before its deadline on Sunday night, June 16th, the Coalition was informed that a group of Park City residents had met to consider the current political situation resulting from the resignation of Mayor John DALY AVENUE Price. It was learned that the group, calling itself Citizens, has decided to circulate a petition which asks the City Council to rule on the residency of Councilman Mary Lehmer. The petition is to be a demonstration of the communitys desires and will not be a legal document. Concerned Citizens will take the petition from door to door. The main thrust of the document will be the contention that Mrs. Lehmer is not a resident of Park City and therefore is not entitled to hold the post of City Councilman. The petition will also urge all citizens to attend the City Council meeting to be held on Thursday, June 20th. Con-cern- ed .MiRlII v PLANTS POTS & THINGS Pl.mtmii Disun Sfiviu SHEEP SEASON IS HERE A word of caution to all dog owners - now is the time of year that shepherds bring their flocks to this area to graze for the summer. If you own a dog, keep an eye on it and try not to let it run too much. Dogs, when they get together, have a tendency to run in packs. Within these packs there may be only one dog that will kill a sheep and it takes very little to do one of our wooly friends under. Sheepherders do not give ANY dog a second chance. If they see one around their herds, theyll shoot first and not ask questions later. The canyons and meadows all around here are now loaded with sheep, as this is prime summer range. Last year, they set out large animal traps - so even if your dog isnt shot, it runs the chance of losing a leg or starving to death in a trap. Keep an eye on your dog - it might save its life. ADOLPH TO OPEN THE WHITE HAUS Adolph Imboden, formerly of Adolphs, hopes to open his new restaurant the White Haus on July 1st. Located in what was previously the Crepe and Fondue Haus, the White Haus still requires much work and the July 1st date is tentative. The building is scheduled for major renovation before the opening. Mr. Imboden stated his new venture will be quite different from the restaurant he operated at the Resort Clubhouse. He has kept the better items, he said, but will specialize in prime rib. Complementing the rib will be a variety of foods, offering something for everyone. Along with his famous escargots, Adolph will introduce raclette, a cheese specialty from Switzerland. Another addition will be a dessert bar. This unique offering will feature a variety of special after-dinntreats which will be prepared in front of the customer. Adolph will encourage patrons to drop in for dessert only, if they so please. The outside of the building will be painted red and white and a Swiss atmosphere will be incorporated into the remodeled interior. The emphasis at the White Haus will be on quality food and service. A relaxed and personal atmosphere together with reasonable prices should make for a restaurant which is attractive to locals as well as OPEN $ AUTHENTIC j er TRIVIA TEST The Mackley family is becoming a familiar sight at the Eating Establishment.
