Students at Envision Academy enjoy learning a wide variety beauty skills in a smuller t Id.ss atmosphere. Envision Academy offers hands on beauty experience Stacy Johnson V '41 r MAM When Stephanie Anderson and CI Wagner decided to take over the Joseph Patrick, there was many changes that they wanted to make to the beauty school, the f irst of which was the name. Now I.nvision Academy of Hair, Skin and Nails, the school offers beauty students a learning learn-ing atmosphere different than that of other sch(xls in the area. Wagner said that one of the most unusual aspects of the academy is the small class sizes. "The thing I noticed working at other schools is that there are too many students," Wagner Wag-ner said . "We try to keep our class sizes small, with about 10 per class. Some of the other places have 20 to 30 in their classes." If you go Envision Academy Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday Address: 212 S. State Street, Orem Phone: 226-2300 Co-owners Anderson and Wagner said that they believe the smaller class sizes helps students to learn because they are able to get the personal attention at-tention they need. Student Mallory Shaw agreed saying that the personal per-sonal attention was one of her favorite aspects of attending the school. "When Stephanie and CJ took over it was a dramatic change in the amount of one-on-one time we all got," Shaw said. Wagner said that they are also emphasizing higher end methods that will teach their students skill needed in high end salons. "We introduced two high end lines of products," Wagner said. "With one of them, we are the first school in Utah to carry them." The school now carries two international hair care product lines, both of which are just entering the United States. The first, Alfaparf, is an Italian line and the second, Schwarzkopf, comes from Germany. Along with their high end products, Wagner and Anderson Ander-son emphasize in their teaching a high end treatment for their clients. "We want our students to learn how to pamper their clients," cli-ents," Wagner said. "All of our stylings come with head and shoulder massages." The duo also expanded the curriculum at the school to include a variety of methods for putting in hair extensions, waxing, and lash extensions. Wagner and Anderson both said that their teaching methods meth-ods come from their experience experi-ence in the field. Both were involved with Joseph Patrick under previous ownership and left to work in different schools and salons. Last December while Wagner Wag-ner was working at Paul Mitchell and Anderson was working at Von Curtis, they were approached about purchasing pur-chasing the school. "We had all of our ideas about what we wanted to do, and it had always been something some-thing we wanted to do,o we said yes," Wagner said. After the purchase, the two worked to create a new atmosphere atmo-sphere by updating the interior of the building, including adding add-ing new color to the walls, and new furniture and accessories. "We wanted to make it a more comfortable place," Wagner Wag-ner said. Students who saw the change said the interior changes, and the curriculum changes were part of what made such a dramatic change to the school They also said it was the attitude at-titude of the new owners. "They see me as a person, they know my kids names, everything about me," said student stu-dent Inalei Chanto. "They have complementing personalities. There are certain things one has better skills at than the other oth-er and it works out perfectly." Anderson said that their students also bring out the best ' in them. "The teaching is the best part," Wagner said. Iticken Roberts Arts and Crafts reopening The public is invited to the grand re-opening of the American Fork store of Roberts Arts and Crafts.
