As I begin to create, by centering clay on the wheel, I experience a calming centeredness of spirit that is invaluable to me in this fast-paced, often difficult, human Working with clay on the wheel experience. gives me time to meditate, clear my mind, and draw near to God. enjoy sharing my creations with “people; it ives me a sense of community and connectedness to other human beings.” Linford creates wheel-thrown and slab-built stoneware and porcelain pieces. Each piece takes about three weeks to go through the entire creative process. Making many of her own glazes, and firing each piece twice to about 2,100 degrees Fahrenheit, Monica makes beautiful, lead-free, microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe pieces designed for every-day use.
